How to practice mindfulness meditation

Mindfulness Meditation

There are many different types of meditation, but they all seek the same ends. Those being peace, tranquility, understanding, higher brain function, less stress, and ultimately, self-realization, or enlightenment. While many forms exist, one really stands out and will be the topic of this article.
Mindfulness is one of the doctrines of Buddhism, namely the eight-fold path. It’s referred to as Right-Mindfulness and has become all the rage lately. It’s everywhere from schools to the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange, and rightfully so.

How to Meditate Mindfully

I know you’re time is short, so here’s how to do it:
  1. Set a timer for five minutes. (You have one on your smart-phone, or in the kitchen)
  2. Sit with your spine erect (straight). Posture is important.
  3. Notice and then concentrate on your breath as best as you can.
  4. Your mind will go crazy. It doesn’t like this. (that’s your ego)
  5. Notice your mind going crazy, then return to your breath.
  6. Your mind will go crazy again.
  7. Again, return to your breath.
  8. It’s all about returning to your breath.
  9. Do this until the timer goes off.
The trick is to do this consistently every day. Eventually, your mind will quiet down. It’s a myth that your mind stops. It never does. Don’t try to stop your mind. You’ll just get frustrated and angry, or down on yourself, which you shouldn’t ever have to feel.
Instead, just allow your mind to run, but gently return your attention to your breathing. That’s the real trick. Mindfulness is not something to achieve, it’s something that exists perpetually, but you just have to notice it. It’s like jacking into the Matrix, if you remember that movie.

Do THIS Once a Week to Look 10 Years Younger

Looking 10 years younger doesn’t have to cost you a leg and an arm, or even a shot. It’s as simple as following thousand year old traditions with the ingredients you already have in your kitchen! But I guarantee you that you do THIS once a week and you WILL look 10 years younger in no time! This recipe comes to us from Japan, and has been used by women for thousands of years. There’s a reason why Japanese women look so young, even in their oldest days! The secret? RICE. Rice is loaded with healthy nutrients such as linoleic acid and squalene, which are very powerful antioxidants and promote collagen production. This in turn reduces and prevents the formation of wrinkles and fine lines.

Great Onion Hair Masks

You can powder dried amla or soak dry amlas in any oil of your choice and mash them to form a paste. You can add amla powder or paste with onion juice to your hair once a week for 30 minutes-1 hour to see amazing results.
  2. Onion-Honey Mixture: Mix ¼ cup of onion juice with 1 tbsp. of honey and apply the mix on the scalp. Massage it for 15 minutes every day. Alternatively, you can also consume it orally, every day.
  3. Onion Juice Hair Rinse: Add 4-5 chopped onion to 1 litre of water and boil it for about 10 minutes. Allow the mixture to cool and strain the mixture
  4. Regular Mask: Try applying onion juice every day on your hair directly for at least 30 minutes before rinsing it off.
  5. Onion-Garlic Mask: Crush garlic and extract juice. Add this to the onion juice and massage it in your scalp. Leave it on for 30 min before rinsing it off.

Tips

Preparing Onion Juice

  1. Food processor or Blender: Peel onions and cut them into four sections. Blend them evenly in the blender. Remove and strain through a fine sieve.
  2. Grater: Cut onion into two halves. Grate both these halves over a plate. When done, strain out the juice from the grated onion, using the back of a spoon.
  3. Cloth method: Collect the outer peels of the onions (try using the one’s discarded while cutting vegetables) and blend them. Put them in a muslin cloth or a thin cotton cloth and squeeze it directly on the hair or in to a bowl if you’re mixing it with some other ingredient for your mask.

DIY Onion Hair Masks

You will need to keep the onion masks on your scalp for at least 30 minutes or longer to achieve desired results.  Repeat the remedies at least three times per week for best results.

Note: Before applying onion juice, test it on a small area to ensure that you are not allergic. Onion juice applied topically is said to give your hair a nice coppery shade. But, if you want to maintain the natural color of your hair, mix onion juice with 1-2 tsp of mustard oil. The oil will prevent the color lightening caused by onions.

Conclusion

Stick with this routine for 2 months to see definitive results. To boost hair growth, you can also massage your hair and scalp with a mixture of olive oil, coconut oil and almond oil once a week, ideally leaving it overnight. Also, don’t forget to include onions and other fruits and vegetables as a part of a healthy hair diet.
